Digital Rendering and Approaching screen/picture studies

This is a two for one kind of request so feel free to tell me if these need to be separate.
The requests are for two courses that I think would fill some caps in the magnificent selection already available.
The first is Rendering.
The process of rendering in art, whether with physical or digital mediums has always been a bit tricky for me, especially if I want to keep brush strokes and sculpt more complex 3d forms.

the second is Studies using pictures or screencaptures from films. I've always been told how these studies can be an excellent tool for understanding colour, lighting, framing, composition, but I've never seen a breakdown of how one should approach them.

Either one of these would be wonderful.
